Records have been submitted by the applicant which <br />5 indicate that the actual daily flow of the system does not exceed 3000 <br />6 gallons per day. Due to increased enrollment, the school has <br />7 requested approval to expand the school facility by adding a modular <br />8 classroom for twenty -five students. The sewage disposal system will <br />9 not have to be upgraded to accommodate the additional students. <br />10 However, a Class A'Special-Use Permit for a.Planned Development is <br />11 necessary to allow expansion of the school facility since the design <br />12 capacity_ of the system already exceeds that allowed according to <br />13 Article 6.20.1. The application for rezoning and a Class A Special <br />14 Use Permit meets all ordinance requirements for approval with <br />15 conditions. <br />16 <br />17 QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS FROM THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AND PLANNING <br />18 BOARD <br />19 <br />20 In response to a questions from Commissioner Willhoit, Crudup <br />21 indicated that the Division of Environmental Management has a set of <br />22 guidelines for estimating design flow for day school facilities. It <br />23 is broken down based on number of students, whether or not the school <br />24 has a cafeteria, gymnasium and /or shower facilities. <br />25 <br />26 COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS FROM CITIZENS <br />-)27 <br />_ -28 Mr. John McGovern, Assistant Principal of Carolina Friends <br />29 School, spoke in favor of granting this Special Use Permit. He <br />30 indicated that the water use was approximately 5.8 gallons per day per <br />31 student which was well under the 10 gallons per day allowed by the <br />32 State. <br />33 <br />34 Ms. Martha S. In summary this <br />46 item was presented to receive citizen comment on a rezoning request <br />47 submitted by Dorothy C. Bane and Willie F. Ward. The property in <br />48 question is located on the south side of US 70 approximately 750 feet <br />49 west of Mount Herman Church Road (SR 1713). It is known as part of <br />50 Lot 35, Tax Map 26 of Eno Township. The total tract contains <br />51 approximately 2 acres and fronts on US 60 for a length of <br />52 approximately 25 feet.
