2 <br />Transportation has indicated that a driveway permit <br />would have to be submitted and appropriate fees paid. <br />The latest NCDOT traffic count on US 70 is a 1988 <br />count. This indicated 8,000 vehicles per day just <br />west of Mount Herman Church Road (SR 1713). A general <br />light industry on two acres of land could create <br />approximately 104 trips per day. <br />The proposal was heard at the August 30, 1990 public <br />hearing. Willie Ward and Dorothy Bane spoke in favor <br />of the rezoning and there were no comments against. <br />The Planning Board recommended approval of the <br />proposed rezoning from Rural Residential (R -1) to <br />Light Industrial (I -1) in their September 17 meeting. <br />RECOZOMNDATION: The Administration recommends approval as per the <br />Planning Board recommendation. <br />
