Proposed Work Plan, Method and Schedule <br />Preliminary Regional Image Guidelines <br />The initial development of specific applications of the general <br />recommendations in Building a Regional Image to development and <br />related public improvements along a major thoroughfare corridor; -the <br />development and redevelopment of strip commercial highway areas <br />and; river corridors/open space areas. <br />Summer 1991: <br />1. Plan the project in detail <br />2. Select the communities and /or areas for application of <br />recommendations and collect necessary information. <br />3. Prepare information and materials for use in School of Design <br />Fall 1991 Graduate Studios <br />Fall 1991: <br />1. Work in Graduate Studios (Architecture and Landscape <br />Architecture) <br />2. Review of work by TJCOG staff and Regional Appearance <br />Committee <br />11. Regional Design Workshops <br />A series of citizen workshops held in the areas or communities <br />selected to refine the ideas developed in phase 1 and to provide a <br />means of "self- discovery" for people living and wdrking in those <br />areas. <br />Spring 1992: <br />1. Planning and material preparation for workshops <br />2. Conduct workshops <br />III. Final Version of Regional Image Guidelines <br />Based on what is learned in phases I and II, the preparation of <br />prescriptive design guidelines for development and related public <br />improvements within the three types of selected areas. <br />Summer 1992: <br />1. Develop design guidelines text and graphic illustrations <br />2. Assemble draft design guideline document(s) <br />Fall 1992: <br />1. Review and revise draft design guidelines <br />2.
