In July 1987, the Regional <br />Image Task Force received a grant from the NEA to <br />survey attitudes toward regional appearance issues and <br />produce a written document describing their findings. <br />The Regional Image Steering Committee was formed and a <br />consultant hired to publish Building a Regional Image. <br />This document completed 7-he first phase of the NEA <br />grant by summarizing results of the survey on <br />appearance issues while pzoviding general recommenda- <br />tions to protect and enhar::e the Region's visual <br />image. Triangle J Staff and members of the original <br />Steering Committee are now preparing a slide presenta- <br />tion for use as copies of Building a Regional Image <br />are distributed to elected officials and advisory <br />boards. <br />
