�i <br />1 Ordinances which are a part of the plan and a part of these minutes by <br />2 reference and attached on pages of these minutes: <br />3 <br />4 Appendix 4 - Orange County Emergency Management Ordinance <br />5 Appendix 5 - County State of Emergency Ordinance <br />6 <br />7 and to repeal an existing ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING <br />8 THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS TO PROCLAIM RESTRICTIONS IN <br />9 RESPONSE TO THE NEEDS OF AN EMERGENCY." <br />10 <br />11 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />12 <br />13 B. PURCHASE OF NEW FIRE TRUCK FOR THE NEW HOPE VOLUNTEER FIRE <br />14 DEPARTMENT <br />15 The New Hope Volunteer Fire Department has contracted for the <br />16 purchase of two new fire trucks. The trucks will cost $313,807.20, <br />17 $125,000 of which.will be paid in cash at delivery. The balance will <br />18 be financed by New Hope. New hope is eligible for a loan at a lower <br />19 interest rate if the financing qualifies as a tax exempt financing under <br />20 the Internal Revenue Code. To so qualify, Orange County must approve <br />21 the financing and conduct a public hearing or direct that one be <br />22 conducted. <br />23 Motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by <br />24 Commissioner Hartwell to authorize the New Hope Volunteer Fire <br />25 Department to conduct a public hearing at 7:30 p.m., October 8, 1990 at <br />26 the New Hope Volunteer Fire Department Building, 4700 N.C. 86 for the <br />27 purpose of receiving citizen comment on the lease purchase agreement <br />28 between New Hope and Emergency One, Inc. <br />29 <br />30 XI. APPOINTMENTS <br />31 The following appointments were approved-by the Board: <br />32 ADVISORY BOARD ON AGING - Richard Hildebrandt for a three -year <br />33 term in an "AT LARGE" position. <br />34 <br />35 ARTS COMMISSION - Rosetta A. Breeze for a three -year term in an <br />36 "AT LARGE" position. <br />37 <br />38 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION - Bill Bracey for a two -year <br />39 term as a representative of Chapel Hill. <br />40 <br />41 <br />42 XII. MINUTES <br />43 Motion was made by Commissioner Hartwell, seconded by <br />44 Commissioner Halkiotis to approve the minutes for the August 30, Joint <br />45 Planning Public Hearing and the August 30 Quarterly Public Hearing. <br />46 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />1 <br />2 <br />3 XIII.
