REPORTS <br />6 <br />A. REPORT ON STATE SURVEY RESULTS OF THE FRAIL ELDERLY <br />7 <br />8 <br />Jerry Passmore reported that the North Carolina Division <br />Aging requested <br />of <br />Orange County to assist them in preparing a State Ag <br />ng <br />9 <br />Plan which will be required by the N.C. General Assembly in March, 19 <br />1. <br />10 <br />11 <br />Two surveys were administered. One survey identified priority servic <br />issues, <br />s, <br />and unmet needs to be addressed in the state plan for the Fr <br />i1 <br />12 <br />elderly in the home or community setting, and the other survey lis <br />ed <br />13 <br />private and public funds being provided on behalf of the frail elder <br />y. <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />B. TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT PLAN PROGRESS REPORT <br />17 <br />Mr. Fred Fravel, state hired consultant from Ecosometri <br />s, <br />18 <br />Inc., gave a brief report on the work plan, activities of the 9DP <br />19 <br />Steering Committee and the results of the county -wide transportation <br />20 <br />inventory. <br />21 <br />22 <br />C. 1990 POST - -CENSUS LOCAL REVIEW REPORT <br />23 <br />David Stancil reported that the staff reviewed the <br />24 <br />preliminary data on the Postcensus Local Review Response Form D -74B and <br />25 <br />have determined that there are some units that have been mis <br />a "' <br />26 <br />throughout the County. This information was forwarded to the regio <br />a'i <br />27 <br />census center in Charlotte. If they accept the numbers which have been <br />28 <br />submitted, it would raise the County's estimated population to 93,600. <br />29 <br />30 <br />D. CUSTOMER SERVICE REPORT <br />31 <br />John Lank outlined the training schedule for County employees <br />32 <br />on customer service. This training will occur in the fall and winter. <br />33 <br />He emphasized that once the training is completed, skills and attitudes <br />34 <br />necessary for good customer service will be part of the workplan for <br />35 <br />each County employee. Concurrently, the County's system of rewards aid <br />36 <br />recognition will respond to employees' demonstrations of exceptional <br />37 <br />customer service. <br />38 <br />Commissioner Halkiotis referred to the PIPR committee aid <br />39 <br />stated he has concluded that they are extremely dedicated employee <br />3. <br />40 <br />He asked that a letter of appreciation be sent to the members of tae <br />41 <br />PIPR committee and that they be honored with a plaque in recognition <br />Df <br />42 <br />their dedication. <br />43 <br />44 <br />X. ITEMS FOR DECISION - REGULAR AGENDA <br />45 <br />A. MULTI - -HAZARD PLAN <br />46 <br />This plan outlines the County's operation in times <br />of <br />47 <br />disaster. The plan includes County Ordinances, Authorities, and <br />48 <br />responsibilities of "the Chair of the County Commissioners, the Manager's <br />49 <br />Office and certain Department Heads. <br />50 <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Hartwell, seconded <br />._ <br />51 <br />Commissioner Halkiotis to approve the Orange County Multi- Hazard Pi <br />52 <br />as the official disaster plan for Orange County and adopt the followi <br />g <br />
