2 <br />(1) Mid -fall -- one hour orientation for all <br />employees in Orange County on the basic <br />philosophy of good customer service in orange <br />County. This same content will become a part <br />of the orientation for new employees- <br />(2) Skill -based training oriented toward specific <br />needs of individual departments will begin <br />during the winter of 1991. <br />(3) Short, periodic training sessions focusing on <br />particular elements of customer service will <br />be on- going. There are also customer service <br />oriented resource materials now available <br />through the Commissioners Library. <br />Once the training has been successfully completed, <br />skills and attitudes necessary for good customer <br />service will be part of the workplan for each employee <br />in County commitment. Concurrently the County's <br />system of rewards and recognition will respond to <br />employees' demonstrations of exceptional customer <br />service. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />
