r
Orange County Supplemental Resource Survey : FY 1990
on
Services to the Frail Elderly 65+
COMMENTS ON DATA APTC0825.DOC
The total county resource figure for the frail elderly
65+ tabulated from agency response was $4,260,445. There were
23 agency surveys completed which included the major non-
profit service providers. Proprietary agencies had a low
response rate, especially in the In -Home Services Section.
Several voluntary support groups like Duke Family Support,
Alzheimer's, etc returned the survey, but reported no
financial figures. Carol Woods figures ($ 6.5 million) were
not included since it is a full service, private residential
Center and would give an inaccurate financial picture for
the County.
Agencies returning the survey are as follows:
Amigo Mobility Center ($44,000)
Alzheimer's Support Group ( $ 0 )
Carol Woods Residential Retirement Center ($6.5 Million)
Chambers Ridge Apartments (handicapped units - $ 0 )
Chapel Hill- Carrboro Meals on Wheels ( $ 48,100)
Chapel Hill Dept. of Housing & Community Development($44,000)
Duke Family Support Program ($ 0 )
Hasten Systems /AC Corporation ( $ 2,880 )
Home Health Agency of Chapel Hill ( $ 2,410,500)
Inter -faith Council ( $ 0 )
Joint Orange- Chatham Community Action, Inc -JOCCA ($ 435,387)
Medical Claims Rx ($ 0 )
Orange Congregations in Mission -OCIM ( $ 14,000 )
Orange County Dept. of Social Services ( $ 348,041 )
Orange County Dept. on Aging ( $ 359,545 )
Orange County Health Department ( $ 26,600 )
Orange County Recreation and Parks Dept. ( $5,601 )
Orange - -Person- Chatham Mental Health Center ($ 147,400 )
Portamedic Health Care ( $ 20,059 )
Self Help for Hard of Hearing People -SHHH ( $ 0 )
Sharon's ray Adult Day Care ( $ 4,792 )
The Right Staff ( $ 329,800 )
Triangle Hospice ( $ 138,600 )
The Communit Services Section figures are likely to be
high since most of the reported services (Congregate Meals,
Transportation, Senior Center, Outreach) were for all people
age 60 and over, regardless of functional capacity. The
Protective Services figure was for all adults, regardless of
age.
6
