Fikes <br />TELEPHONE NUMBER - <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 968 -4501 <br />Mebane - 227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />PURPOSE: To receive comments from the public concerning the proposed <br />FY 1990 Housing Development Grant Application. <br />BACKGROUND: The North Carolina Department of Economic and Community <br />Development (ECD) requires applicants to conduct a public <br />hearing to obtain citizen's comments at the beginning of <br />the Housing Development Application Process. Comments <br />received during this public hearing will assist the Housing <br />and Community Development Department in designing an <br />innovative and effective project which will improve the <br />housing problems of low and moderate income residents. <br />Eligible projects include those designed for the creation <br />of affordable housing or increasing housing options for low <br />and moderate income households. <br />Orange County is eligible to apply for a maximum of <br />$250,000. Applications are due October 18, 1990. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): <br />Receive comments. <br />
