Manufacturing and <br />Processing, allowed only in industrial zoning districts, <br />was identified as the use category which most closely <br />matched the proposed use. The Standard Industrial Code <br />Manual classifies a studio as a service - oriented use. <br />The proposed amendment defines arts and crafts studios as <br />the working area for artists or craftsmen and gives <br />examples of typical studio uses. Studios would be <br />permitted by right in the commercial zoning districts. <br />Sale of only those goods which are custom -made could occur <br />on-site. <br />RECOMMENDATION: The Planning Staff recommends approval of the proposed <br />amendment. <br />
