applied shrink tubing, or by means of sealant tape such as Bi -Seal, <br />or Aqua -Seal or equivalent. <br />4. Lightening and power surge „protection. The <br />following, or its equivalent as certified to the county by a <br />qualified engineer, shall be done to provide lightening and power <br />surge protection. Adequate grounding, at -the first, last and every <br />tenth pole, and at every repeater or power supply location shall <br />be installed. Adequate bonding to telephone strand and electric <br />neutrals shall be done. Careful attention shall be given to the <br />proper use of surge protection devices, resetting circuit breakers, <br />and gas ionization devices to protect equipment and maintain <br />service during abnormal power situations. Particular attention <br />shall be given to the regulated do power packs at repeater stations <br />through the use of adaptive regulator circuits, surge protection <br />modules, transient absorbing diodes, or 3- terminal regulator hybrid <br />specially designed to provide current limiting, thermal overload <br />protection, and maintain operation within safe limits. <br />S. Installation standards. Each subscriber shall have <br />a separate drop from the residence to the Feeder Line. Buildings <br />with more than four units may be treated as apartments. <br />Installation methods shall be explained to all subscribers. No <br />drop lines shall be spliced. All installation standards and <br />practices shall be "state -of- the - art." All installations shall be <br />done in a workman -like manner using "state -of- the -art" techniques <br />and "state -of- the -art" materials. <br />L <br />6 <br />
