Jef talked with Main Street Partners <br />indicated no one from the County had contacted them. Jef made refere <br />to state funds that were suppose to go to the artists but did not. <br />stated he feels that the County should not put tax dollars into <br />organization that cannot account for its spending over the past <br />years. <br />�q <br />n <br />W o <br />Chairman Carey emphasized that the Board acted in the <br />interest of protecting the continued operation of the senior citizens <br />space without interruption. <br />Commissioner Halkiotis stated his concern about State monies <br />earmarked for the artists but not received by them. He su <br />County's method of providing protection for the senior citizensrcent r <br />in the southern end of the county. <br />Commissioner Willhoit noted he feels the additional $3,000 <br />reflects the fair market rate for the space and is a way to help the <br />ArtsCenter at this time. <br />Commissioner Marshall emphasized that when there are senior <br />citizens involved, it is extremely important. to try and not have them <br />become upset about where they are going to be or what is going to <br />happen. She voiced her support for continuing the high morale of this <br />group without any disruption or uncertainty. She suggested referring <br />to the Arts Commission the question of why State funds for the artists <br />were not paid to the artists. <br />County Manager John Link clarified that the $3, 000 represent <br />the true market rates and he reinforced the fact that the County want <br />to remain in that space <br />PUBLIC CHARGE <br />Chairman Moses Carey, Jr. read the Public Charge. <br />V.
