Passmore, Ext. 2000 <br />Contract for FY91 Aging Services TELEPHONE:-NUMBER- <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 968 -4501 <br />Mebane - 227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />PURPOSE: TToeonsider Approval of Title III -B & D Older Americans Act (Social <br />Services /Senior Center operations) contract with the Triangle J <br />Council of Governments effective July 1, 1990 through June 30,1991 <br />for federal /state funds in the amount of $140,775. County <br />matching funds would not increase over previous years. <br />BACKGROUND: This is a yearly continuation contract covering the following <br />services which are a part of the Department on Aging's carrent <br />budget: This also includes a small amount of special emphasis <br />funds for respite care and legal assistance required by :he <br />revised Older Americans Act. The Department on Aging 'could <br />continue emphasis ACCESS SERVICES in order to facilitate service <br />delivery by a multitude of community organizations. Respite <br />Care manpower and Legal assistance would be subcontracted to <br />other agencies. The Department on Aging services were ranked <br />as high priority according to Council of Governments and local <br />needs assessments. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize Chair to sign. <br />
