Carolina for the purpose of exercising public powers in <br />connection with the conservation and development of soil, <br />water, and related natural resources. <br />The General Statutes of North Carolina authorize the <br />County to possess property, and exercise all of those powers <br />conveyed by law to the County in the interest of health, <br />safety, and general we/fare of all the residents residing <br />within the corporate limits and within the boundaries of the <br />County. <br />The program conducted will be in compliance with the <br />nondiscrimination provisions as contained in the Titles VI <br />and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, the <br />Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987 (Public Law 100-259) <br />and other nondiscrimination statutes, name, Section 504 of <br />the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title IX of the Education <br />Amendments of 1972, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, and <br />in accordance with regulations of the Secretary of <br />Agriculture (7 CFR-15, Subparts A & B) which provide that no <br />person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, <br />co/or, national origin, age, sex' religion, marital status, <br />or handicap be excluded from participation |n, be denied the <br />benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination <br />under any program or activity receiving federal financial <br />assistance from the Department of Agriculture or any agency <br />thereof. <br />
