Link, Jr. <br />TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />Mebane - 227 -2031 <br />Chapel Hill - 967 - 9251/968 -4501 <br />PURPOSE: To revise the following sections of the Orange County <br />Personnel Ordinance as indicated below. <br />BACKGROUND: The relevant sections of the Personnel Ordinance are <br />attached. <br />RECOMMENDATION: To approve the revisions to Article I, section 4.1E and <br />Article II, section 3.0 of the Personnel Ordinanace. To delete <br />sections 8.11 through 8.14 of Article III of the Personnel Ordinance <br />and insert new Sexual Harrassment Policy as section 2.0 of Article II, <br />thereby renumbering all following sections of Article II. <br />Article I, 4.16 provides for a definition of immediate family which <br />recognizes the changing composition of families. <br />Article II, 2.0 is a Sexual Harassment policy which was originally <br />introduced as part of the EEO program. The policy will replace the <br />current Sexual Harassment policy which does not provide adequate detail <br />for administration. <br />Article II, 3.0 states that relatives, or members of the same <br />household, may not be employed by the same department. <br />i <br />
