4 <br />into'the Lease as evidenced by references to the sharing <br />contained in the Lease; and <br />WHEREAS, County operates a necessary and thriving Senior <br />Citizens Center at ArtsCenter in the leased and shared space <br />which Senior Citizens Center has become an integral part of the <br />operations of ArtsCenter; and <br />WHEREAS, ArtsCenter is a signifi.cant'part of the cultural <br />life of the people of County; and <br />'WHEREAS, County, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, private businesses <br />and individuals have made an enormous investment of time, energy <br />and money in ArtsCenter; and <br />WHEREAS, it appears that ArtsCenter may fail immediately <br />without more money which failure would be a significant loss to <br />the people of County and which failure could jeopardize the <br />successful operation of the County Senior Citizens Center. <br />IT IS THEREFORE AGREED by County and ArtsCenter that the <br />Lease is amended to provide an adjustment in the rent paid by <br />County to ArtsCenter totalling $3,000 for the lease period July <br />1, 1990 to June 30, 1991. The rent adjustment shall be made in a <br />Jump sum payment by County to ArtsCenter on or before August 8, <br />1990. ArtsCenter agrees to assign the lump sum rent adjustment <br />to Main Street Partners as a partial payment of the rent owed by <br />ArtsCenter to Main Street Partners for the period July, August <br />and September, 1990. <br />THE ARTS CENTER, INC. <br />By: <br />President <br />a <br />
