The alternatives are 1) expansion of its North <br />Carolina facility or 2) acquisition of another folding carton company in a <br />different geographical location. <br />The expansion of the North Carolina facility Would be comprised of additional <br />square, footage for the manufacturing facility and additional production <br />machinery. The following list describes the major components of the project <br />and gives an approximation of their costs. <br />Additional Building $ 900,000 <br />Printing Press 3,600,000 <br />Gluer 250,000 <br />Shredder & Balers 400,000 <br />Intangibles 200,000 <br />Closing Costs 100,000 <br />Total Requested $ 5,450,000 <br />(60,000 sq. feet @ $15 /sq. foot) <br />The next item to be addressed is that of the employment profile. Mebane <br />Packaging currently has 253.fu11 --Lime North Carolina employees. Our projec- <br />tious indicate that approximately forty -six jobs would be added as a result of <br />the expansion. The majority of these jobs would be manufacturing positions, <br />with only five or six adMinistrative positions being created.
