Liston has announced her resignation effective June 30, <br />1990. Ms. Liston is the only person currently authorized to sign <br />the County's financial instruments, except for the Finance <br />Director, Ken Chavious. Upon Ms Liston's departure, there will be <br />a need for other County Officials to have signatory authority in <br />the absence of the Finance Director. <br />G.S. 159 -28a of the North Carolina General Statutes permits other <br />County officials to perform the signature and preaudit functions <br />if designated as Deputy Finance Officer by the Governing Board. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): Adopt the attached resolution and authorize Chairman to <br />sign. <br />
