NO: X <br />---------------------------- <br />ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: Ken Chavious <br />Resolution TELEPHONE NUMBER- <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 968 -4501 <br />Mebane - 227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />PURPOSE: Adoption of Resolution authorizing Rod Visser and John Link to <br />sign county financial instruments. <br />BACKGROUND: Ellen G. Liston has announced her resignation effective June 30, <br />1990. Ms. Liston is the only person currently authorized to sign <br />the County's financial instruments, except for the Finance <br />Director, Ken Chavious. Upon Ms Liston's departure, there will be <br />a need for other County Officials to have signatory authority in <br />the absence of the Finance Director. <br />G.S. 159 -28a of the North Carolina General Statutes permits other <br />County officials to perform the signature and preaudit functions <br />if designated as Deputy Finance Officer by the Governing Board. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): Adopt the attached resolution and authorize Chairman to <br />sign. <br />
