HARRELSON <br />SECRETARY <br />Mr. Moses Carey, Jr., <br />Orange County Board of <br />Post Office Box 8181 <br />June 14, 1990 <br />Chairman <br />Commissioners <br />Hillsborough, North Carolina 27278 <br />Dear Mr. Carey: <br />PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION DIVISION <br />POST OFFICE BOX 25201 <br />9191733-4713 <br />Re: Section 18 Grant 91 -18 -044 <br />Work Order 9.9043258 <br />The Urban Mass Transportation Administration is currently reviewing the <br />North Carolina Department of Transportation's application for funds under <br />Section 18 of the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964, as amended. <br />Although grant approval is not expected for another 30 -60 days, the <br />Department will begin the contracting process with final execution to <br />occur following UMTA approval of the grant. The County of Orange has <br />been awarded capital funding for a total of $17,850, of which $9,996 is <br />Section 18 funds, $3,391 is State funds and $4,463 is local funds. <br />We have enclosed three (3) originals of the project agreement to be <br />executed between the County of Orange and the North Carolina Department <br />of Transportation. The individual authorized to enter into the agreement <br />on behalf of the County should sign each copy of the agreement where <br />indicated, have the signature attested, and have the County's seal <br />affixed on page 15. DO NOT DATE THE AGREEMENTS; this will be done when <br />they are executed in final form by the Department. <br />The project agreement calls for seventy -five (75 %) percent State and <br />federal participation in capital expenses. Attached to the agreement is <br />the approved Project Budget (Appendix A). <br />The period of performance for all capital expenses is July 19 1990 <br />through June 30, 1992. No capital expenses may be incurred under this <br />agreement until final execution of the agreement by the Department, which <br />will follow UMTA approval.
