R <br />9 <br />PRIVATE ROAD JUSTIFICATION: Property of Beverly Blythe <br />This subdivision is located in a predominantly rural /agricultural <br />area of northern Orange County. A Class B private road would be <br />consistent with the rural character of the surrounding community. <br />This 750 -foot road would service only six (6) lots. All of these <br />lots are larger than required by regulation. Proposed restrictive <br />covenants would prevent further subdivision. <br />The property is almost entirely wooded and bordered on the west <br />by a creek. A 100 -foot stream buffer would protect this creek. <br />The proposed road has access to neither an arterial nor a <br />collector road, and is located within the upper Eno Watershed north of <br />Lake Orange. <br />A private road may reduce the impervious surface runoff, and <br />should require less clearing of woods for ditches and right -of -way. <br />This should help protect an important water source. - <br />
