Y
2
The Manager proposes that the base bid be the responsibility of the
County and be totally funded by County funds, which will require an
additional $10,885, to be appropriated from the County Capital Reserve
Fund. In addition, the Manager supports the appropriation of an
additional $12,567 that would be matched by APS funds to fund Alternate
#1. This would allow an additional eight (8) kennels to be built, for
a total of 32 kennels. A total of $23,452 would be appropriated from
the County Capital Reserve Fund.
During discussions with Pat Sanford, Shelter Manager, APS expressed
interest in building the entire project, complete with the alternates.
The cost of the total project is $349,483. APS has expressed a
willingness to contribute the additional $61,031 necessary to build the
complete project, if the County will contribute the funding as
identified above.
In addition, it is requested that the Board approve the construction
contracts, contingent upon County Attorney and Purchasing Director
review, and adopt the Animal Shelter Capital Project Ordinance, so the
project can begin during the month of July.
RECOMMENDATION: Award bids to
not to exceed:
Resolute Bldg.
