F <br />7 <br />CURRENT INITIATIVES (Education) <br />* Cooperative agreements between school systems and Social Services <br />Department, Mental Health and other human services agencies currently <br />exist. <br />• Career Information Center and Career Counseling are provided by school <br />systems for non - college bound students <br />• Several programs within the school systems promote cooperative efforts <br />between schools and sources of employment. <br />• Community college courses are provided after school hours at both school <br />systems. <br />• The Economic Development Commission's Education Training Consortium has <br />initiated the functional establishment of a clearinghouse to coordinate <br />training opportunities in orange County, including: <br />-- Job /client matching information <br />-- Agency coordination <br />-- Expansion of Durham Tech training programs <br />4 <br />
