This program <br />also collects from a few businesses which are located adjacent to residential areas <br />and can conveniently put out their bins for participation. The collection from the <br />curbside program is about 150 tons per month of newspaper, glass and aluminum. <br />The Recycling Program continues to provide public education on solid waste and to <br />support non - profit, volunteer and for-profit recycling activities through referrals, <br />technical assistance, logistical support and publicity. <br />Key Objectives-for 1990 -91 <br />To sustain the curbside recycling program, increase participation and collect at <br />least 150 tons monthly of newspapers, glass bottles and aluminum cans, or 1,800 tons <br />per year. <br />To reach all eligible households with at least 2 pieces of recycling literature and <br />one personal contact. <br />To achieve an overall County -wide recycling rate from all sources of 6% of the total <br />waste stream by June, 1991. <br />105 <br />sR <br />t <br />f <br />1 <br />r <br />r <br />t <br />
