12 <br />APPENDIX "A" TO 911 CENTER BUILDING CONTRACT <br />THE FOLLOWING SECTIONS ARE MODIFIED TO READ: <br />Article 1, paragraph 1.1.2: The Architect's services shall <br />be performed as expecaitiously as is consistent with <br />professional skill and care and the orderly progress of the <br />Work. Upon request of the Owner, the Architect shall submit <br />for the Owner's approval a schedule for the performance of <br />the Architect's services which may be adjusted by mutual <br />agreement of the Owner and the Architect, as the project <br />proceeds, and shall include allowances for periods of time <br />required for the Owner's review and for the approval of <br />submissions by authorities having jurisdiction over the <br />Project. Time limits established by this schedule approved <br />by the Owner snail not, except for reasonable cause, be <br />exceeded by the Architect or Owner. <br />Article 2; paragraph 2.1.1: The Architect's Basic Services <br />consist of those described in Paragraphs 2.2 through 2.6 and <br />any other services identified in Article 12 as part of Basic <br />Services, and include normal structural, mechanical and <br />electrical and any other engineering services necessary to <br />produce a complete and accurate set of construction documents <br />as described in paragraph 2.4. <br />Article 2; paragraph 2.2.1: The Architect shall review the <br />program furnished by the owner to ascertain the requirements <br />of the Project and shall arrive at a mutual understanding of <br />such requirements with the Owner, and shall submit such <br />understanding in writing, and shall furnish a copy to the <br />Owner for its approval before proceeding with preliminary <br />designs. <br />Article 2; add as paragraph 2.3.3 the following: The <br />Architect shall consider the placement of windows to use the <br />climate of North Carolina for both light and ventilation in <br />the case of power shortages and also shall consider the <br />installation of solar energy systems in the design of these <br />facilities as required by NCGS 115C -521 (c). <br />Article 2; paragraph 2.4.1: Based on the approved Design <br />Development Documents and any further adjustments in the <br />scope or quality of the Project or in the construction budget <br />authorized by the Owner, the Architect shall prepare,, for <br />approval by the owner, Construction Documents consisting of <br />Drawings and Specifications.setting forth in detail the work <br />required for the architectural, structural, mechanical, <br />electrical, service - connected equipment, and site work, and <br />the necessary general conditions of the contract. He shall <br />provide the services of professional structural, mechanical, <br />civil and electrical engineers, qualified by training and <br />experience in their respective fields as needed to address <br />APPENDIX "A " - -911 BLDG.
