Fikes <br />1- Funding Approval Form <br />2- Emergency Shelter Grant Agreement <br />3- Agreement w /InterFaith Council TELEPHONE NUMBER - <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 968 -4501 <br />Mebane - 227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />r Rr -- - +- <br />PURPOSE: To approve the execution of the Emergency Shelter Grant <br />Agreement and Funding Approval Form with the N.C. <br />Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) and <br />the execution of an Agreement with the subgrantee - <br />InterFaith Council for Social Service. <br />BACKGROUND: In May, 1990, Orange County was awarded $13,041 in <br />Emergency Shelter Grant funds to be used for the IFC <br />Shelter for the Homeless in Chapel Hill. The InterFaith <br />Council will serve as subrecipient of the grant funds and <br />will expend funds for the ongoing operation and maintenance <br />of the Shelter. <br />In order to receive the funds, the County must execute a <br />Grant Agreement and Funding Approval Form. These documents <br />along with the approved Grant Application and regulations <br />constitute a contract between DECD and Orange County. <br />Additionally, an Agreement between InterFaith and Orange <br />County must be executed. This agreement will govern the <br />expenditure of funds for the approved activities. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): <br />Approve the execution of the Emergency Shelter Grant <br />Agreement and Funding Approval with the N.C. Department of <br />Economic and Community Development as well as the Agreement <br />with InterFaith Council and authorize the Chair to sign the <br />documents on behalf of the Board. <br />
