The <br />P=1=6e would be the development of a unified (public and private) <br />comprehensive (all elderly) Aging plan endorsed and implemented by <br />Orange County government as well as by other local planning units. A <br />special Aging Plan Technical Committee, comprised of selected HSMT <br />members, public and private agency administrators, would oversee the <br />Planning and implementation of the demonstration project. The Aging <br />Department Director, as HSMI' member, would be the project director <br />supervising a paid Professional Planner and Graduate Student Intern, . <br />Three suboariaittees would be developed out of the Technical Committee <br />that would focus on the functional groupings in aging: the Well, the <br />Moderate Risk and the High Risk older adults. The Strategic Planning <br />model would be applied by the Technical Committee grid its Subcommittees <br />and would include community forums. Specific accomplishments would be <br />many: strengthening of existing services, establishment of new ones, a <br />more efficient and effective service delivery system and a new, <br />structure for promoting creative solutions to the pressing needs and <br />future Ones of the elderly. <br />We understand that the county must share materials and methods with <br />the NC Division of Aging and with other counties and organizations, <br />and must comply with any evaluation and reporting required by the <br />Division of Aging, both during and after the grant period. We <br />further understand that the Division of Aging and the Area Agency on <br />Aging will work closely with the Lead Agency during the grant period <br />to provide technical assistance and other support.
