Tryon Street Hillsborough, N.C. 27278 Dear Ms. Jones, 2 a.0- Box 337 301 ''Jest Main Street Carrboro, North Carolina 27510 (919)968.7700 .9'91942 -35_41 May 14, 1990 For more than seventeen (17) years the Town of Carrboro has featured a fireworks display at our Annual Fourth of July Celebration_ held on the Carrboro Town Hall grounds on July 4th. We understand that a permit to "shoot" a fireworks display must be received from the Orange County Board of Commissioners as stipulated by the NC General Assembly. We submitted a similar request last year and the following information proved adequate for the Commissioners to approve our request for this permit. The Town has contracted with a professional fireworks (Southern Fireworks International) company to actually supervise the shooting of the display. Therefore, we would respectfully ask that this matter be brought to the County Commissioners for their review and approval of a fireworks permit. I hope that the following information is-sufficient for you to forward our permit request to the County Commissioners with a positive recommendation. SITE: The fireworks will be shot over the former Town Hall Ballfield grounds, located behind and adjacent to the Carrboro Town Fall at 301 W. Main Street, Carrboro. This is the same site that has been used in the past. FIREWORKS /DISPLAY SHOOTING: The fireworks display will take place between 9:00p.m. and 10:00p.m. on July 4th, 1990. The actual firing will be by a professional pyrotechnic expert and stand -by /back -up provided by the Carrboro Fire Department. Emergency /medical assistance will be provided by the South Orange Rescue Squad from their station very near the site. Only an aerial display will be featured. Our executed agreement and a copy of Southern International's certificate of insurance is attached for your review.
