PUBLIC HEARING YES: NO:XX <br />----------- - - - - -- - -__ -_ <br />ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: PAM JONES <br />EXT 2650 <br />REQUEST FROM TOWN Telephone Number - <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 967 -9251 <br />Mebane -- 227 -2031 <br />Durham -688 -7331 <br />PURPOSE: To consider approving a permit for a fireworks display to <br />be held in conjunction with the 4th of July Celebration <br />sponsored annually by the Town of Carrboro. <br />BACKGROUND: The Town of Carrboro will sponsor a 4th of July Celebration <br />to be held on the grounds around the Town Hall. Part of <br />the celebration will include a fireworks display by Southern <br />International, Inc. <br />The criteria has been met for adequate safety precautions, including <br />coverage of the event by emergency personnel. All insurance <br />requirements have been met, with the exception of the general liability <br />which covers the Town specifically for this event. As in years past, <br />this coverage will be written within thirty (30) days of the event and <br />a certificate of insurance submitted to the County prior to <br />July 4, 1990. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve a fireworks permit for the Town of Carrboro's <br />Annual July 4th Celebration, contingent upon submission of proof of <br />general liability insurance coverage. <br />
