2
residential uses. ,
The approval of any zoning district less restrictive
in terms of density or use would not be in keeping
with the intent of the approved Land Use Plans.
The rezoning request was presented for public hearing
on August 28, 1989. There was substantial public
comment, most of which was against the proposed
rezoning. Minutes of the public hearing are attached.
The Planning Board considered the rezoning request on
September 18, 1989, and recommended denial, per the
Planning Staff recommendation. Minutes of the
Planning Board meeting are attached.
The request was originally scheduled for the
Commissioners November 6, 1989 agenda. At the owner's
request, consideration was postponed, pending
notification to proceed.
Recently, the Nello L. Teer Company notified the
County Attorney that it wished to have the request
scheduled for decision. The County Attorney
subsequently notified the Planning and Inspections
Department to place the matter on the June 4, 1990
agenda.
RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends that the requested
rezoning be denied, per the Planning Board
recommendation.
