Orange County Land Records System Page 1 <br />z <br />A G R E E M E N T <br />1 INTRODUCTION. <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made this 4th day of June, 1990, by <br />and between Orange County, North Carolina, hereinafter <br />referred to as the "COUNTY," and the Town of Chapel Hill, <br />hereinafter referred to as the "TOWN," for the purpose of <br />procuring, implementing, and maintaining a geographic <br />information system (GIS); for the purpose of creating and <br />sharing geographic data:. and, for the purpose of raising <br />revenue by means of selling products of GIB based on <br />public information. <br />That COUNTY and TOWN agree to cooperatively, and in <br />good faith, obtain GIS capabilities through the purchase <br />of hardware.. and software from Environmental Systems <br />Research Institute (ESRI), hereinafter referred to as the <br />"GIS VENDOR;" through the purchase, capture, or conversion <br />of data; and, through the development of GIS applications <br />( "AML's "). Further, COUNTY and TOWN agree that they will <br />mutually adopt a plan, to become an addendum to this <br />Agreement, for the marketing of data to private <br />individuals or firms, created by the capabilities of <br />obtained GIS hardware and software. , <br />from ROSCOE E REEVE — VERSION 2 08:40:44 08 MAY 1990 <br />
