I <br />< � ccn 5 A <br />Dear Resident: 7 97 <br />In April, 1987, following the conclusion of ,.ublic hearings, the Orange <br />County Board of Commissioners adopted a Numbering Ordinance which <br />authorizes the conversion of rural route a -id ,pox numbers to house numbers <br />for all Orange County addresses. to date rural postal routes have <br />been converted to street addresses. Additionally, all new homes and <br />businesses on single lots and all new Cubdivisions have been assigned <br />street addresses adhering to the county —:ride system. All addresses are <br />computer maintained and are now being used to support the vital functions <br />(voter registration, tax records, 911 emergence) as well as mail delivery <br />by the appointed postal service areas. the year all of Orange <br />County will have street addresses and rural routes and box numbers will be <br />a thing of the past. <br />Hillsborough Plural Route 7 is now being pi-eposed for conversion to house <br />numbers. On Tuesday, May 29, 1990, a public hearing will be held before <br />the Orange County Board of Commissioners to consider the accuracy of the <br />proposed house numbers assigned to- residences and buildings on Rural Route <br />7 served by the Hillsborough Post Office. The hearing will be held at 7:30 <br />p.m. -in the Superior Courtroom of the New County Courthouse in <br />Hillsborough. <br />If approved, the house numbers will replace the old system of rural route <br />and box numbers. This change will improve mail delivery and allow 911 <br />emergency calls faster access to addresses. Residents will be required to <br />display their new number on their mailbox with numerals at least 1 inch <br />high. <br />:.The proposed , NEW ADDRESS which follows reflects the physical location of <br />your. residence at tax map reference: 4.42E..56 <br />OLD ADDRESS <br />112 BONAPARTE DR <br />NEW ADDRESS <br />302 BONAPARTE DR <br />If'you wish to speak in regard to this proposal, please attend the public <br />hearing. We welcome your comments. We ask however, that you confine your <br />comments to specific concerns regarding the assigned house number or street <br />address.
