Best and Eidenier felt that if it was possible to
have it removed before the public hearing, then there was
no need to hold the public hearing. Best said he had no
problem with a recommendation to remove the Outer Loop but
didn't think it was appropriate until the public had spoken on
it.
Best asked Planning Intern Sarah Burdick to give a short
report on the analysis she was doing of the Outer Loop.
She explained that this was a component of her departmental
paper, a requirement for graduation which she had to have done
before May 12. She explained that she was using a
computerized geographic information system to produce a series
of map overlays. The overlays would be composed of various
social, economic, and environmental features along the
proposed alignment in Orange County. She explained that one
of her premises was that the loop was a foregone conclusion
and she was attempting to determine by her analysis if the
route chosen was the best one or if there was an alternate
route which would be less disruptive. Best thanked her for
her report and said the TAS would like to see the finished
product.
10.
