U� <br />MINUTES OF TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY SUBCOMMITTEE (TAS) MEETING HELD <br />ON MARCH 14, 1990 <br />ATTENDANCE <br />TAS Members: Chris Best, Chair Jean Hamilton <br />Betty Eidenier Wendy Olson <br />Phil Post Dick Swank <br />NCDOT: Blake Norwood Danny Rogers <br />Staff: Gene Bell, Planner III Sarah Burdick, Intern <br />Paul Thames, County Engineer <br />1. CALL TO ORDER - Best called the meeting to order at <br />approximately 7:10 pm. <br />2. CONSIDERATION OF ADDITIONS TO AGENDA - None. <br />3. APPROVAL OF FEBRUARY 12, 1989 MEETING SUMMARY - Deferred. <br />4. CHAIR COMMENTS - None. <br />5. DISCUSSION OF THOROUGHFARE PLANS - Best began by requesting <br />clarification on the next public hearing on the DCHC <br />Thoroughfare Plan. Rogers - stated that Durham County would be <br />sponsoring a hearing on March 21 at 7:00 pm to be held in the <br />Council Chambers of the Durham City Hall. Bell added that <br />Alamance County would be holding a public hearing on their <br />thoroughfare plan on March 20 in Burlington. Best asked Bell <br />to send a notice to all TAS members informing them of the <br />upcoming hearings. <br />Best then referred to draft transportation plan schedules <br />handed out by Bell and asked Bell if it would be possible to <br />consider the proposed amendments to the Traffic Impact Study <br />(Article 13 of the Zoning Ordinance) along with the other <br />items on the schedules. Bell stated that it would. <br />Best then announced that the main item for discussion was the <br />three thoroughfare plans for the County, i.e., the <br />Hillsborough Plan, DCHC Plan, and Orange County Thorough -fare <br />Plan. He referred to Eidenier's comments from the last <br />meeting regarding the nature of Kimley- Horn's work being a <br />road classification system rather than a thoroughfare plan. <br />-=r He mentioned the need to include this in the Transportation <br />1 <br />I <br />f <br />
