APPENDIX A <br />ORANGE COUNTY PRIVATE ROAD STANDARDS <br />(Only changed paragraphs shown) <br />The standards and specifications for Private Roads apply to subdivisions in Orange <br />County and the class of road required depends on the number of lots served by the <br />road. A Class C road serves 1 to 3 lots or dwelllng ual , a Class B road serves 4 to <br />9 lots or dwelling units, and a Class A road serves 10 to 25 lots or dwelling units. <br />Private roads serving mo re than 25 loffi or dwelling units may rmitte d Qnly if <br />constructed t9 NCRM standards, All class of Private Roads in a major (five or more <br />lots) subdivision require the approval of the Board of Commissioners. [Furthermore, <br />Class A Private Roads in a minor subdivision (four or less lots) require the Board's <br />approval.] Before the final plat of the subdivision can be recorded, the Private road <br />must be built and approved, or the applicant must post a security instrument with the <br />County in an amount that would cover the cost of constructing the road. Remove all trees, stumps, roots, and other vegetation from the width of <br />right -of -way necessary to construct the road to the required dimensions. Fill and <br />compact all depressions created by clearing. <br />Build roadbed to the required dimensions, cutting, filling and compacting to 90% of <br />standard Proctor test where necessary for a desirable grade. <br />Install culverts to provide cross drainage. <br />Construct side ditches and crown travelway. <br />[] = delete text 27 <br />MIA = add text <br />
