Copy NCOOT <br />APPENDIX B <br />STREET INDEX <br />The Street Index is a tabulation of the roads on the state <br />system that have been placed into the thoroughfare plan. This <br />index shows the proposed changes of these roads due to their <br />anticipated traffic (future average daily traffic or future ADT). <br />These changes made were widenings of the existing widths and <br />rights -of -way of these roads. The future ADT's were computed by a <br />linear progression of the ADT's of each thoroughfare from past <br />years. Using the minimum tolerable lane widths (Table 5, Page 23), <br />the future lane widths were assigned to the roads. Capacity is a <br />term expressed as the number of vehicles that can pass a given <br />point in a certain period of time at a given speed. The <br />capacities shown are the maximum amounts of traffic each road can <br />carry at a Level Of Service "C ". <br />47 <br />
