The final
first priority project is the relocation of Mayo Road to directly
connect with Eno Mountain Road. Total cost of first priority
projects is estimated to be $10.4 Million.
SECOND PRIORITY (1995 -2000)
The second priority projects include the Western Bypass, a
new facility that would extend from NC 57 to US 70. Widening
projects of second priority include US 70 from the eastern plan
boundary to west of the (eastern) Eno River bridge and from
SR 1328 to the I -85 - US 70 connector, NC 86 from US 70 to
SR 1894, and Ben Johnston Road from Eno Mountain Road to SR 1134.
King Edward Road from SR 1144 to US 70, Oakdale Drive from NC 86
to SR 1009, Baldwin Road from Northside Drive to SR 1561, and
Shawnee Drive from NC 57 to SR 1588 are all second priority pro-
jects that involve new alignment. The final two projects, Kenion
and Phelps Roads, are new alignments of three lane intersection
approaches, inclusive of paving Kenion. Total cost of second
priority projects is estimated to be $ 19.8 Million.
THIRD PRIORITY (2000 -2005)
The third priority widening projects are NC 86 from SR 1894
to the southern plan boundary, Lawrence Road from existing edge of
pavement (EOP) to SR 1710, St. Mary's Road from North Lawrence
Road Extension to the eastern plan boundary, and New Hope Church
Road from I -40 to NC 86.
