The competitive applications <br />are for $ 20,000 amd will be awarded for fiscal year 1990 -91 <br />(July 1, 1990- June 30, 1991). Deadline for submission is <br />June 1, 1990. <br />BACKGROUND: The N.C. Division of Aging is in the process of developing <br />a State Aging Plan which is required by the N.0 General <br />Assembly by March, 1991. Part of the process is to fund <br />four local demonstration planning efforts that could serve <br />as models for other counties. The Orange County Human <br />Services Management Team would be designated as the lead <br />agency to develop the County Aging Plan which would include <br />community -based long term care. The Aging Director, as HSMT <br />member, would be assigned the responsibility to oversee the <br />process, staff HSMT's Aging Plan Technical Committee and <br />provide liaison with TJCOG. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve submission of application. <br />
