NORTH CAROLINA 27278 <br />e <br />'• a .....• <br />M E M O R A N D U M <br />TO: 'John Link, County Manager <br />FROM: Mary Scearbo, Planner III <br />DATE: March 1, 1990 <br />SUBJECT: Trouble - shooting Team Schedule <br />Several weeks ago we discussed the development of a "trouble- shooting" <br />team. The Team, consisting of the County Manager, Planning Director, <br />County'Attorney, Current Planning Division Head, and any other involved <br />staff members, would be available to meet on a regular basis to discuss <br />and resolve citizen problems encountered by the Planning Staff. This <br />will give us the opportunity improve public service by resolving <br />difficult issues before they become a problem. <br />^+M .tached. is a draft schedule of meeting times for 1990. Wednesday <br />afternoons at 3-:00 seems to be the time slot that fits in best with our <br />existing schedules. The meetings are for the most part scheduled every <br />other Wednesday, avoiding the weeks of Agenda Review :meetings. <br />if there are no items on the agenda for a particular meeting, I will <br />notify the Team members on the Monday prior to the meeting. I do not <br />expect that we will need to me on all of the scheduled dates. if an <br />urgent issue comes up that needs to be addressed before the next <br />r <br />scheduled meeting, we can arrange to meet in the same maner as we do <br />now. <br />If a citizen is to be involved in the meeting, I will prepare a <br />summary -memo beforehand for your preview. <br />The Planning Staff will use its judgement in determining what- issues <br />may warrant discussion by the Team. Our jobs constantly involve <br />problem- solving, and most issues are quickly resolved within the <br />individual divisions. Most of the time, we can identify those ~--sues <br />which may ultimately involve your assistance. Whez in %do::bt, I will <br />go ahead and schedule a questionable item on our agenda, at least <br />initially.
