PUBLIC HEARING YES: NO: x <br />ATTACHMENT(S): Report INFORMATION CONTACT: Rosa Mark, Chair <br />Jerry Passmore, Secretary <br />TELEPHONE NUMBER- - <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 968 -4501 <br />Mebane - 227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />PURPOSE: To inform and update the County Board of Commissioners as to <br />the results of the Long Term Care Forums held on October 21, and 28, 1989 <br />and to share recommendations on improving the Long Term Care service <br />system in Orange County. <br />BACKGROUND: The Orange County Long Term Care Advisory Committee, a <br />cooperative effort of the county's departments if Health, Aging anvi <br />Social Services and their Boards, sponsored the forums. The forums <br />served a three fold purpose: <br />1) to increase understanding about long term care issues and local <br />resources <br />2) to give citizens an opportunity to share their concerns and <br />thoughts <br />3) to assist in developing long term care recommendations that would he <br />encorporated in to a County Long Term Care Work Plan. <br />All three County Boards: Social Services, Health, and Aging have <br />received and approved the report for distribution. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): Accept the Report <br />
