Board on AgingPUBLIC HEARING YES: -NO: X <br />ATTACHMENT(S): Work Plan INFORMATION CONTACT: Jerry - Passmore <br />Robert Seymour, Vice Chair <br />TELEPHONE NUMBER - <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 968 -4501 <br />Mebane - 227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />PURPOSE: To approve the work plan for establishing the need for <br />additional senior citizens facility space in Chapel Hill. <br />BACKGROUND: At the County Commissioners'1990 -91 Goals /Objectives <br />Retreat in January, they adopted the goal to determine <br />the need for an additional senior citizens center space in <br />Chapel Hill, specifically raised by the Orange County Advisory <br />Board on Aging. The County Commissioners directed the <br />Department on Aging staff and Advisory Board on Aging to <br />prepare and submit a work plan for its approval to deal with <br />this issue. The work plan proposes a joint Town of Chapel <br />Hill and County Task Force and a work plan with both a short <br />term and longterm objectives. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and appoint one or two representatives <br />to Task Force. <br />
