2/19/90 <br />Career Status II <br />(Application) An Orange County employee with a minimum of five years teaching <br />experience who has served at Career Status) for three years can <br />apply for Career Status II. The employee applying for Career Status <br />II will be formally observed a minimum of three times by the <br />principal or his designee, and by a trained Evaluator. One of <br />these observations will be announced and two will be unannounced. A <br />consensus summative will be required. The performance at this level <br />will be six ratings at 4 or higher and two at 5 or higher. At least <br />one of the higher ratings must be in function areas 1 -5 as defined in <br />the Teacher Performance Appraisal Instrument. <br />An Orange County Career Status 1 employee with six or more <br />years of teaching experience, who has the necessary ratings, and <br />four consecutive teaching years and /or tenure in Orange County <br />may apply for Career Status // in the 1990 -1991 school year. -11 <br />An Orange County Career Status I employee with eight or more <br />years of teaching experience, and who has the ratings and four <br />consecutive years and /or tenure in Orange County will he <br />immediately eligible for Career Status II in the 1990 -1991 <br />school year if the employee so chooses. Application must he <br />made by June 1, 1990 and shall he based on 1989 -1990 <br />consensus summative ratings. <br />Career Status II <br />(Maintenance) To maintain Career Status II an employee has the option of a <br />consensus summative or will be formally observed once during each <br />* of the first two years of Career Status ll. The employee will have a <br />choice of either an announced or an unannounced observation as <br />outlined in the waiver. In the third year of Career Status II, the <br />employee will be formally observed three times. At least one of these <br />observations will be unannounced. These observations will be done <br />by the principal or his designee, and by a trained Evaluator. A <br />consensus summative will be required. The performance of the <br />employee will be six ratings at 4 or above, two at 5 or 6; at least one <br />of the higher ratings must be in function areas 1 -5 as defined in the <br />Teacher Performance Appraisal Instrument. If an employee decides <br />not to apply for a higher level, the cycle continues in subsequent <br />years (as outlined above). An employee must remain at Career Status <br />11 for three years. <br />
