North Carolina Department of Transportation Rural Operating Assistance <br /> Program (ROAP) Grant Application for FY 2018 <br /> The Board considered approving an application for Rural Operating Assistance Program <br /> and accepting funding totaling $185,949 for FY 2018; and authorizing the County Manager and <br /> County Finance Officer to sign the Certified Statement of Participation. <br /> Theo Letman reviewed the following PowerPoint presentation: <br /> NCDOT Rural Operating Assistance Program (ROAP) <br /> Grant Application for FY 2018 <br /> • The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) allocates and designates <br /> Rural Operating Assistance Program (ROAP) funds each fiscal year to Orange County. <br /> • ROAP is a state funded group of grants administered by NCDOT's Public Transportation <br /> Division (PTD) intended for County governments and eligible transportation authorities. <br /> • This one grant application is for three separate programs under the ROAP umbrella: <br /> ➢ Elderly and Disabled Transportation Assistance Program (EDTAP) <br /> ➢ Rural General Public Program (RGP) <br /> ➢ Employment Transportation Assistance Program (EMPL) <br /> • ROAP funds can be used for trip-based service or the public transportation system for <br /> specific populations (elderly, disabled, job seekers, rural dwellers) served by human <br /> services departments and for purposes such as medical appointments and job training. <br />
