He said they are not sure about the impact of <br /> 26 these, thus it is not in their model yet, but there will be a report that will discuss these new <br /> 27 technologies. <br /> 28 Commissioner Price said these issues are coming since monies are being put into these <br /> 29 types of research. <br /> 30 Commissioner Rich said if the Board endorses this, can there be changes made down <br /> 31 the line. <br /> 32 Tom Altieri, Comprehensive Planning Supervisor, said it is fine to submit the OUTBoard <br /> 33 comments as they are, and this is not the final stage, and additional comments will be <br /> 34 accepted. He said there will also be a public hearing. <br /> 35 Commissioner Marcoplos referred to number 18 under the 4.0 funded projects, <br /> 36 Operation Improvements Orange Grove Road to Old Fayetteville Road, which is listed as a <br /> 37 2023 completion. He asked if this is the one with which Carrboro had a problem. <br /> 38 Commissioner Jacobs said yes. <br /> 39 Commissioner Price said DOT wanted to widen Highway 54 from Carrboro to Alamance, <br /> 40 but Carrboro did not want this area widened in its jurisdiction, and would rather pursue <br /> 41 "modernization" such as buses, lights, etc. <br /> 42 Commissioner Marcoplos said this item seemed to reflect those concerns. <br /> 43 Chair Dorosin said these are general comments, and the Board can revise them as <br /> 44 needed before final draft. <br /> 45 <br /> 46 A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner McKee to <br /> 47 endorse the OUTBoard comments (Attachment 3) as written or modify as appropriate to reflect <br /> 48 BOCC comments for staff to convey to the DCHC MPO Board. <br /> 49 <br /> 50 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />
