The Human Relations Commission <br /> also recommends Marc Xavier's re-appointment to Position#5, and Jacqulyn Podger's re- <br /> appointment to Position#17. <br /> Ms. Kinzer is familiar with the Northern part of the county and will provide additional needed <br /> representation from that area with her background in community engagement. <br /> Ms. Spencer has ties to the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill community and can help <br /> serve as a liaison between the campus and the rest of the county. Her background has also <br /> equipped her to connect with diverse communities throughout Orange County. <br /> Ms. Garcia-Turner has an understanding of Hispanic and Latino cultures and would provide a <br /> new and valued perspective to the advisory board. She has a background in working with a <br /> variety of different people and will help foster communications between community members. <br /> Mr. Case has a background in mediation on a variety of issues, including race and economic j <br /> justice, and would be a vital resource for future community conversations held by the Human <br /> Relations Commission. He also wants to help the community discuss difficult issues in a 1 <br /> meaningful way to better understand one another. <br /> Ms. White has been engaged in recent community discussions regarding racism and was active <br /> in the Hate Free Schools Coalition in Orange County.
