<br /> In looking at the MST route(s) for Segment 11, taking this priority into
<br /> consideration would see the Town's Riverwalk extended to Occoneechee
<br /> Mountain State Natural Area (using existing trails on that State Park property),
<br /> and then connecting it to the planned Seven Mile Creek Nature Park, part of the
<br /> Upper Eno Nature Preserve (please see map below).

<br /> By focusing on this portion of Segment 11, four new miles of connected hiking
<br /> trail would be added to the MST, extending the Riverwalk experience southwest
<br /> into an area of important natural resource significance. The Upper Eno Nature
<br /> Preserve and future Seven Mile Creek Nature Park is within or adjoins several
<br /> hundred acres of contiguous natural lands, which include not one but two
<br /> identified North Carolina Natural Heritage sites:
<br /> • The Crabtree Creek Monadnock Ridge, and
<br /> • The Seven Mile Creek Sugar Maple Bottom
