WHEREAS,the Town has reviewed the proposed Orange County Transit Plan and believes <br /> adoption of the Plan will provide important resources to maintain and expand public transit <br /> services within Orange County; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Carrboro Board of Aldermen that the Board of <br /> Aldermen endorses the proposed Orange County Transit Plan with the following <br /> recommendations: <br /> • An inter-local agreement be developed and approved between Orange County,Carrboro, <br /> Chapel Hill,Hillsborough and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. <br /> • The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization should include a <br /> provision requiring_an annual report from Triangle Transit on the status of the Plan.This <br /> assessment should include an update on the status of all elements of the Plan. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Aldermen recommends that the Orange County <br /> Commissioners place a referendum to increase the Orange County sales tax by %2 cent to fund the <br /> Orange County Transit Plan on the November 2011 ballot. <br /> The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote received the following vote-and was <br /> duly adopted this 24th day of May 2011; <br /> Ayes: Dan Coleman,Sammy Slade,Mark Chilton,Joal Hall Broun,Jacquelyn Gist,Randee <br /> Haven-O'Donnell <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent or Excused: Lydia Lavelle <br /> I,Catherine C.
