37 <br /> . . <br /> proper waste segregation and safe storage procedures. <br /> In accordance with state requirement for temporary storage when necessary the date upon <br /> which each period of accumulation begins is clearly marked and visible on each container. <br /> Furthermore, while being stored unoite, all containers with accumulating hazardous wastes are <br /> labeled or marked clearly with the words "Household Hazardous Waste" unless the material is <br /> recyclable (e.g., used oil, latex paints, batteries) and is sepa ted from other hazardous waste, or <br /> the materials is deemed Universal Waste as defined by 40 CFR Part 273. <br /> Time in storage varies according to the volume of waste received,thoughnoxvasteyhaUbestonad <br /> for longer than one year from the date of acceptance. Removal of wastes by the contractor is <br /> scheduled as necessary to minimize expense to Orange County,to avoid an over-accumulation of <br /> waste, and to ensure safety and efficiency of operation, while at all times complying with <br /> applicable regulations and safety considerations. <br /> All hazardous waste stored at this facility shall be stored in,an enclosed and roofed structure. <br /> Access to the facility shall be limited to employees and orrother authorized personnel including <br /> employees and agents of the hazardous waste contractor, and maintenance personnel. The <br /> Orange County Permanent HHW Collection Facility is designed to ensure safe and efficient <br /> operation. The HHW collection facility consists of a primary storage building with an attached <br /> concrete receiving apron plus overhead canopy, and a secondary portable storage building used <br /> only for storage of Universal Waste, <br /> Removal of wastes by the contractor is scheduled as necessary to minimize expense to Orange <br /> ( <br /> County,to avoid an over-accumulation of waste,and to ensure safety and efficiency of operation, <br /> while at all times complying with applicable regulations and safety considerations. <br /> The primary storage building at the Orange County Permanent Collection Facility has secondary <br /> containment volume 251.3 gallons.
