Each of them is
finishing their initial appointment for a partial term and they have confirmed their interest in
reappointment.
Cathy Munnier who has completed the required training and served on several hearing panels.
Daniel Ryan who is expected to complete the required training by the end of the month. He has
not yet had the opportunity to serve on a hearing panel.
Amanda Schwoerke who has completed the required training and served on 2 hearing panels.
Edmund Tiryakian who has completed the required training. He is one of the three members of
the pool from the Animal Services Advisory Board. He has chaired a number of panels.
Tony Whitaker who has completed the required training and served on 2 hearing panels.
Ms. Hannah Abernathy has declined to be considered for reappointment. In doing so, she cited her job
search upon completion of law school later this month and philosophical differences with the Unified
Animal Ordinance.
Thus there will be two vacant positions in the pool if the BOCC reappoints the 5 individuals mentioned
above. These positions are for residents
• With experience in the field of public safety
• Who reside within the municipality of Carrboro
Currently, there are no applicants with public safety experience or who reside within the municipality of
Carrboro.
