Resolution Requesting Abandonment <br /> of Eubanks Road — SR 1727 (Partial) <br /> PURPOSE: To make a recommendation to the North Carolina Department of Transportation <br /> (NCDOT), and the North Carolina Board of Transportation (NC BOT) on a petition to add <br /> Eubanks Road — SR 1727 (partial); and to abandon maintenance of Eubanks Road — SR 1727 <br /> (partial). <br /> BACKGROUND: Under North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Project <br /> 7C.068087, a portion of Eubanks Road between Old NC 86 and Dromoland Road was realigned <br /> to provide for improved intersection sight distance (Attachment 1). The project was included as <br /> a secondary paved road improvement in the 2008-2009 Orange County Secondary Road <br /> Construction Program which was previously presented to and adopted by the Board of County <br /> Commissioners (BOCC) on May 20, 2008. The chosen realignment was a result of a 2012 <br /> planning and design process including the NCDOT, Carrboro and Orange County Staff, and <br /> involved property owners. The project has been completed and the current petition by NCDOT <br />
