26 <br /> Orange County, NC RFQ 5225 SCS ENGINEERS <br /> The Landfill is currently utilizing an active landfill gas collection system to deliver gas to a <br /> 1,000 KW power generator used by the nearby University of Chapel Hill. In the future, the <br /> University and Orange County may decide to modify the landfill gas collection and control <br /> system or to re-structure the landfill gas-to-energy project and SCS' team of landfill gas experts <br /> are ready to assist the landfill with any current or future gas system inquiries should they arise. <br /> Other potential projects/functions that may be anticipated include preparation of presentation <br /> material for public meetings (including AutoCAD drawings, poster boards, renderings, etc.); <br /> attendance at meetings, preparing design and bid documents for department projects; assistance <br /> in preparing scope of work requests for proposals; assistance with review of bid documents and <br /> proposals; preparing drawings, calculations, evaluations, estimates, assessments, etc.; and <br /> interpretation of rules/legislation. SCS works with many of our clients similar to Orange County <br /> under multi-task, open-end contracts to prepare modifications to existing drawings, plans, and <br /> permit documents for a variety of solid waste facilities and infrastructure. We specialize in <br /> creating accurate and precise construction documents and plans that adhere to state and federal <br /> regulations. Our close relationship with the North Carolina Department of Environmental <br /> Quality(NCDEQ) allows our firm to gain helpful insight as to upcoming changes to state <br /> regulations that will affect the design and operation of your landfill and other facilities. <br /> Environmental Monitoring and Reporting <br /> Specific topics and subject areas that are identified in the RFQ and fall under SCS' <br /> environmental monitoring and reporting practice related to solid waste and sustainable materials <br /> management facilities include Gas Remediation, Regulatory Compliance, Site Assessment, and <br /> Groundwater Management/Monitoring (including Collecting field samples, Laboratory Services, <br /> Assessment of Analytical Results, Reporting to the State, and Remediation).
